Sunday 11th february

For once I awoke to find that the house was reasonably tidy for a sunday morning. Usually there is disorderly residue left over from Saturday. Yesturday I made the girls put away everything that they had pulled out instead of letting them slink off without lifting a finger. Loud cries from Amy to the tune of 'my mum doesn't make me clear up after I've been playing' to which I replied 'I'm not your mum!' and inwardly thought thankgoodness!, and more fool her if she doesn't make them tidy up after themselves.
I was able to turn my attentions instead to the filthy car which once I'd spent two hours washing, cleaning ,turfing out assorted papers and rubbish, vacuuming and waxing turned out to be the Focus. It looks quite presentable now. Had quite a long chat to my mum, who rang just as I'd finished, and then me and the Mook retired to the beach for an hour or so as it was lovely and sunny.
She jealously guarded her big Tweetypie beach ball from the attentions of a curious baby, who was toddling unsteadily nearby, and we played in the surf for a while (the sea is still too cold to actually get in) until she turned round and said 'take me home mummy', to which I dutifully complied.
