Saturday 27th January
Yes! We scored the skates! When I checked, 25 minutes before the end of the auction KTs bid was the highest, and she sent me a text message to confirm. How exciting! She is going to keep them for me until I get home, so they give me yet another reason to try and get home again before next Christmas.
It rained all day, and there is a load of wet washing on the clothes horse in Hop's lair upstairs, as I can't peg anything out, and we have no radiators to hang stuff on. I made spare ribs with honey, mustard and worcstershire sauce marianade with jacket spuds, as it is comfort food for a rainy day, and also involved the oven being on for quite a long time, which in turn warms up downstairs abit.
Settled down to watch dancing on ice and then had a quick call to Kt to say thankyou, before she froze to death on the pavement on the way into her local, via having been to the pictures (the thing I miss most, living here as well as being able to find an ice rink!). Lucy was very cuddly for once until she realised it was easy to jump on me, as I was sat on the beanbag infront of the tv. Cue Mook mirth, until she conked out with her Balamory book, which has usurped Maisie Mouse's Christmas Eve, the number one fave since about last September. A book on which I am now word perfect and should surely qualify for an MA. (Maisie Authority)!!!
