Tuesday 6th June

The day started off with clear bright sunshine, and the sun continued to blaze until sunset. I took this photo on the way back from dropping the Mook at nursery, and was rather surprised with what I saw. I had to hold the phone up high to avoid getting a big chunk of wall in the way of the view (incidentally El Baranco del Infierno and a palm tree)and I think that the black blob must be the sun, and was rather impressed with the cerise circle, which definitely wasn't there with the naked eye!
Pottered about on the terrace this afternooon, sweeping up all the dead leaves from my bouganvilea whilst the mook fiddled with pegs (intelligent child separates all the broken ones from the good ones). Can't believe how big the sunflowers are now. Lucy's is about a foot tall, with Emma's not far behind. Amys is growing, but will take a while to catch up because of the root damage which occurred during overzealous
replanting.
Went to the small park briefly, but the Mook was disinclined to play because it was hot and I was conscious of tonights tea (chicken breasts) festering in their polythene bag. Not wanting to poison anybody I thought it best to get them home pronto! Unfortunately when I got back I noticed several ants running about, which meant I had to come straight back out to get some spray to deal with them. (I suspect that they were coming in through a duct for cables which has a plastic cover.) Duly squirted stuff on offending area, and there doesn't appear to have been any further intrusions from unwelcome visiters.
Freaky coincidental conversation on BB (06:06:06) between Pete and Lisa, where Pete was saying ants have an open invitation into his kitchen and he puts a pot of jam on the side especially for them. Yuckkk!
