Tuesday 30th May

No school today for Lucy, but my cunning plan for a lay in was ruined by Hop who thought he was doing me a favour by waking the Mook up... Anyway, no harm done as I'd already done the bokbok, so we cuddled up, me with a book about Jane Austin and Lucy with her pop-up Goldilocks and the Three Bears (both christmas presents, mine unread whilst Lucy's is well worn). When it was time for second coffee, we padded downstairs and I am sorry to say I let Balamory out of its box for pretty much the whole morning. The rug smelt like a dead dog after yesturdays pukie mookie attack so I've doused it with disinfectant and we now smell as though we are in a pine forest. Monster pile of ironing which resembled the leaning tower of Piza, so I thought that I should do something about it.
It was incredibly hot today and not much to do as everything was shut in Adeje, so I postponed the park trip until after tea and plodded on with the housework, although looking about now I can't say I notice a big difference thanks to the tender attentions of a small person. When we did go out it was noticeably cooler, and this seemed to work in Lucy's favour as she seemed more willing to run about and play. We were up there for a good hour before she sat in her pushchair and demanded "juice!" ,which is our cue to go. Luckily no repeats of last nights disasters, although the Mook did run into a door just as she was going to bed, as she tends to get accident prone when she is tired. (Cue WW2 air raid siren and big square mouth!)
