Monday 29th May

Unlike the UK, today was not a bank holiday and the sun was out. Not quite how it was at home, I was reliably informed. The Mook went to nursery, but gets tomorrow off instead as it is El Dia De Las Canarias tomorrow.) The one good thing is my spanish course has now finished, so was able to come staight back home and leap into my domestic duties, thus freeing up the afternoon to play about with Lucy.
The Sound of Music was on in the background (just as it should be on a bank holiday monday), and I produced the gingerbread wendy house which Mum gave to Lucy as one of her christmas presents. She got so much that at the time I confiscated a few to wow and amaze at a later date when there was a new toy drought. It has been tucked away on top of the wardrobe in my bedroom for the past 5 months so it had novelty value for Lucy. I think that she was a bit scared of it at christmas, but we had a fun this afternoon and evening playing in it. First all the cushions were in, then they were turfed out of the window, then the Mook barricaded herself in once she worked out how to close the doors (velcro). All good stuff.
The only downfall of the day was that about 10mins after her milk the poor little mite threw up all over the living room rug and herself (with hindsight maybe too much excitement), and then when I'd cleared this all up she snuck into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of Nestea of the side, and smuggled it into the wendy house where she took the lid of and tipped it on the floor before proclaiming "mess!" At this point it seemed a good idea to put Lucy to bed so I could wash the living room floor again! (Pah!)and also the floor of the wendy house which I then turned upside down to dry, whilst I watched the shenanigans unfold on Big Brother.
