Sunday 11th June

Usually Sunday is my favourite day of the week, but I felt tired and rather nonplussed with it this week. Mookenstein didn't stir from her bed until 9.30, and was rather cranky when she did emerge. Spent the morning thinking about tidying rather than doing any tidying, although as I'd pushed the boat out as far as housework was concerned towards the end of the week, it didn't look too bad, so we amused ourselves with the coloured pencils and paper, drawing things. Lucy gets very excited when I draw her something she knows, like butterflies or buzzy bees.
Spent the afternoon snacking on a mixture of rubbish (crisps) and healthy stuff (dried fruit, which the mook loves).
Left the park alone until 4.30, as it was just too darn hot, and even though it is baking outside I think that the swimming pool is still too cold to get in. There was a quite pleasant breeze anyway, and the sun had lost most of its force so Mook was able to have a run about and a quick photo opportunity! Afterwards we took a detour by the garage to get the Mook a treat (small bag of pick'n'mix) and a paper for me, mainly to see what kiss and tells about the Big Brother contestants there were this week (sad, but true, and anyway, what else are the sunday papers for?)
Made fishcakes a la Delia for tea, which involved a lot of messing about with capers and gerkins. The end result didn't justify the means, although maybe its just because I had to cook the fish and make the mash because I didn't have any handy pre cooked leftovers hanging about. Lucy didn't eat any of hers, despite me smearing it with ketchup, which is usually a sure fire way of getting her to eat something.
A fairly inactive day for me, but not so for Nats, as she completed her marathon in 4hrs 15 mins, which I think most people would agree is pretty impressive.

Love the photos, can't believe how much she's changed since you stayed with me... and as for ketchup on her tea, well, Auntie Katie says it worked for her! Fantastic news about Nats too, very impressed.
