Saturday 10th june

The day of anticipation arrived, and Hop was literally hopping about with glee. I made a fish dish with chips and salad (how English!) and I even broke my no football rule and settled down to watch this amazing team we have been promised. Alas alack, by half time I was bored and the mook was playing up because Alex and Jimbo we here, so we retired to the kitchen to do some colouring. I my uneducated opinion what I saw was hardly dynamic and setting the pitch alight, when you consider we won curtesy of an own goal bounced off the top of one of Paraguay's heads.
Hop had guzzled rather a few beers and went to sleep for the rest of the afternoon, whilst I pottered about and took Mook to the park when it was a bit cooler. No such luxury as a snooze in the afternoon for mums as I had the usual prerequisite number of shirts to iron (5), as well as various vests and t shirts now Hop has started going to the gym again. Very sad when you see things in terms of the washing which is created.
No wins on the lottery to report, although as me and Nats won a tenner on Wednesday, which she has hopefully wisely reinvested for us, it ain't over yet. She's running a full marathon in Edinborough tomorrow, and hoping to do it in 4.5 hours if it isn't too sunny, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for her. (The run starts at 9am, and I am reliably informed that she'll be beer in hand and in the pub, hopefully by 2.30!)
