Saturday 20th May

(Picture shows Lucy in the Balamory trance, whilst I did the ironing.)
Hot, hot, hot!! If this keep up I may be forced to dip my toe in the swimming pool at some point this week. I'll have to go and get a small parasol to keep the sun off. Think that I'm getting paranoid about ageing and plan to avoid the sun as much as possible this summer. I've already found a fetching straw hat, and plan on smothering me and the mook in factor 30. I did this last summer and still managed to get brown(ish)
Repotted some of my sunflower seedlings with the help (or hinderence) of Emma and Amy. I thought that they might be interested but they were more interested in tipping water everywhere and making a mess. Unfortunately Amy yanked hers up without any roots, and Emma, having picked the biggest one flapped the top about so now the stem is broken. I think I'll have to do some swapping about. They might change their minds when they see how quickly they grow, and when they see what the flowers are like.
Did a monster pile of ironing this afternoon, but at least when it is done, its done. Also made some potato salad and did some general tidying up, so I should have a relaxing Sunday. Phoned my sis just as the Eurovision song contest was starting, which she was watching too (Oh the exciting lives of us 30 somethings! Still, it has to be done, and Terry Wogan as host is an institution in himself. Very amusing!)
Hop had football, so it was just me, the Mook and a bottle of something cold, dry and white. Vaguely amused at how dreadful some of the acts were, and how some appeared to be so earnest and serious while they were singing for their supper. Perhaps I'm just getting old and cynical. Don't know who won, as I went to bed, but it was looking like it was going to be Finland.
