Sunday 14th May

(This photo is the view looking inland from our terrace. As the sun sets, the light is reflected onto the mountains making them glow in late afternoon a deep gold which changes to purple as the time ticks on. A most majestic landscape, particularly early morning or late afternoon/evening.)
I like Sundays as it is the only day when I don't have to hurry and scurry about. Managed to get a second cup of coffee in before lucy woke up, and then we dossed about until about 10ish. I'd had the good sense to tidy up the night before, so it was a nice and unusual feeling to have nothing needing urgent attention. (I shut the kitchen door as there was a big pile of ironing lurking on the worktop).
A brilliantly sunny day outdoors, so put up the parasol and pottered about tending to my plants while lucy played with some pebbles. She arranges everything in straight lines at the moment and if I was a specialist in cognitive development I would probably know exactly what this means. As it is though, I just find it another cute quirky thing done by the mook to while away a few minutes. I was amazed to see how quickly my sunflower seeds have grown. I only planted the seeds about a week ago and they are about 3cms tall already. Made me think of Jack and the Beanstalk.
After lunch I decided to tackle the previously mentioned ironing problem. Hopefully there are sufficient clean crease free clothes for us all for the rest of the week, but it never works out this way. After an hour and a half we were free to go to the little park, where Lucy ran off some energy and for some unknown reason shouted batido! (spanish for milkshake) everytime she was at the top of the slide. Caught this on my new phone video, and after tea managed to bluetooth it to our computer, which for me, a confirmed technododger was a supreme achievement in its self. Tried to e-mail it to Mum, Kt and Andy, but don't think it worked.
Put the Mook to bed, and enjoyed a glass of wine or two on my beflowered roof terrace while Hop insisted on playing me various dodgy seventies punk bands he'd rediscovered. This only made me think that maybe there was a reason why they had been forgotten in the first place! Managed to find a compromise in the end with the chilli peppers, and so to bed.
