Sunday 12th November.
A mixed bag of a day, with some bits being rather more pleasant than others. I had (probably) one of the longest phone calls in history from my mother, who was feeling the chill November air, although this was more than likely due to the fact she had no socks on and the a window open. Lucy nodded off next to me, as she is decidely groggy, and sickening for something. I have gradually seen her good temper and patience deteriorate over the past 24-36 hours.
When she woke, she unfortunately chose the wrong side of the sofa to get up from, which leads me to the unpleasant bit of the day, and I had a very querulous tot to entertain for the afternoon. This proved to be rather taxing for both of us, although by the time her dad came home from work, she was all sweetness and light again. (Typical!)
In the evening, I decided to get in contact with one of my old schoolfriends, Kirsty who I haven't seen or spoken to in years. (Probably at least 10, maybe 12). After first ringing her Dad, who's number mum found for me this morning, I then rang her. It was as easy as that, and just shows how shockingly lazy I am at keeping in touch with people. She seemed pleased to hear from me, and very coincidentally said that her Dad had been clearing out his house, and had found an old purse of hers. Inside it were some earrings belonging to me, which she can remember me giving to her in the Royal Oak. All news to me, but hopefully we'll be able to meet up when I'm back home at Christmas. She has two sons, as does her sister. Its mad to think that the last time we saw each other we were all completely child free. How time flies.
