Wednesday 12th July

Box standard day of nursery, tidying and ironing, nursery, home. (Fascinating stuff eh?) We went round the pool for a couple of hours this afternoon and Lucy actually got in (initially she fell in) the baby pool (with armbands) so she was ok although looked like she was going to cry, but it looked so funny that I couldn't help it and laughed and then she saw the funny side too. Anyway, after that she had a whale of a time playing with the itty bitty water toys she has, aswell as some that somebody else had left behind. She tried to swipe a turtle as we were leaving but I made her put it back, when she quite clearly didn't want to. I could see the internal struggle she experiencing played out on her face which was quite amusing, but also good that she did as she was told without a huge fuss. I think that I read somewhere up to the age of 3, children think that their parents can read their minds. This is probably quite true given the fact that young children can't keep anything a secret because their faces give the game away!
Made a yummy stir fry by cutting white cabbage into really thing strips and stir frying it with red peppers, carrots, a little onion, noodles and chicken marinaded in chinese 5 spice and soy, with extra ginger chucked in for good measure. Clean plates all round (although not necessarily clean faces!) and very quick and healthy, so it ticks all the boxes!
Watched a spot of Gordy (liked the look of the summer soup, not sure about the rabbit or the souffles) and then followed this up with BB, before trying to sleep, but it has gone very hot and Hop always closes all the windows as he gets bitten by mosquitos. I don't, so usually I sneakily open our bedroom one just a crack to let a bit of draft in, otherwise I'd probably suffocate.

Cute photo of the mookie in her nursery uniform. You should keep it to show her when she's older and not so happy to go to school! Love Auntie Oswas xxx
