Wednesday 21st June
The longest day of the year! I always think something amazing is going to happen today, but I have to say nothing out of the ordinary occurred. I meant to take a photo of the sunset, but Gordon Ramsay was on and by this time I was completely engrossed with the collection of West Midland butchers he had assembled, who rather recklessly thought they could cut it in his kitchen. In the end they didn't do so bad, and he came up with a yummy idea for lamb rubbed over with cumin with apricot and pine nut stuffing. Think I may have to invest in his new book when I next get back to Blighty.
The Mook was rather bad tempered today, probably only to be expected as she had a late night last night and the WW2 airaid siren was up and running by 6.30pm. The noise even dislodged Hop from his lofty perch infront of his playstation in the attic. The situation was diffused with the tried and tested "want a bath?" cue more playing with shadows and 'Na Na' (yellow teletubby called La La). Anyway, ruffled feathers were smoothed, and my little chick was comfy cosy in her nest by 8pm, and as I mentioned before, I settled down to watch Gordy, with yesturdays leftovers...chilli con carne y un poco de vino.
