Friday 1st September

Went for a trip to the Eagle Park, Las Aguillas del Teide. The Mook was far to busy looking about and tripped up, bashing her against a rock decorating the Penguin enclosure. Could have been a nnasty gash, but luckily the skin (and her little head) wasn't broken, and a bump came up with a bruise over the course of the day. Needless to say a few tears, but she pulled it together very quickly and in 5 minutes was back on full speed.
Lots of excitement by the Cappucino monkeys, and Amy nearly jumped out of her skin when small dirvish whirled its self at the window glass. Lucy called the crocs 'dinosaurs', which if you think about it is pretty astute for a two and a half year old, and they all loved the parrot show. We also saw Lions, Tigers, Leopards, Panthers, Orangutans (my favourites), Red Pandas, Mear Cats, and lots of different types of birds. Emma, sam and Amy all went on the jungle raid with Paul and Hop, whilst me and Gill sat in the shade an let Holly and Lucy cover themselves with icecream , before letting them go on the paddle boats. (Have fond memories of the paddle boats and canoes at Nicolas Everitt park in Oulton Broad-perhaps some elements of childhood are destined to remain the same.)
Ordered pizza's in, and everyone came back to ours, with Emma insisting that we watch Mean Girls (again).
