Saturday 20th August

Went for the first trip out in the beepbeep jeep today. It feels as though you are sat in the cockpit of a plane, and there is even a switch to twiddle the wing mirrors, just like the aelerons on the wings. (Well perhaps I'm exagerating abit, although you do feel quite lofty, perched up high.) I think that once I get over the spacial awareness thingy, I will get to like it, as it is very easy to drive. There are parking sensor lights at the front and back, which let you know when a bump is imminent, although I was to busy trying to get to grips with the handbrake which is actually a footpedal with a thing that resembles a choke to pull out to release it (remember chokes? How come cars don't have them anymore?) to pay too much attention to the disco lights in the rear.
Stalled a few times, which provoked the helpful comment from Emma'a direction 'how come we keep stopping?' We went to San Isidro to get another car seat, so that we (for 'we' substitute 'I') don't have to keep swapping over from the Focus which makes my life alot easier. New smart Chicco affair, which is silver and pale blue/grey. Emma deemed that it should be suitably colour co-ordinated (she reliably informed me that the colours 'go' with the beepbeep jeep) Usual tussle trying to get the bally thing to stay in, but it is sorted out now, and firmly in place.
New series of the Xfactor started with the usual cats chorus medley of bizarre and wonderous oddballs who seem to think that Louie, Sharon and Simon all have magical powers to transform weedy, out of tune and uncharismatic performances into show stopping extravaganzas of talent. Don't these people have any friends who could less brutally (than Simon) persuade them that their talents lay elsewhere? Anyway, the Mookster had had enough by about 7.30, and demanded that I take her to bed. Can't say that I blame her as the caterwauling was stupendous.
