Friday 19th August
Went to Los Cristianos am to sort out bank crap, and decided to go to the bookswap, as I needed a new read (as did Lucy) Found Donna Tartt's 'The secret History' which I immediately set about reading the minute we got home, and also 'Empress Orchid' which I thought I knew from somewhere, and subsequently found out from a later call from my Sis she recommended it heartily, my (1st) m8ty! The Mook got 'Little Bear's Star' and 'Fox's Midnight Journey'
Later, usual dross at La mercadona, from which I had to wrench myself away from my newly unearthed literary treasure, and the usual takeaway, girls, et cetera. Managed to keep one eye on BB for the predictable outcome, and luckily had managed to pack all 3 kids off to bed with minimal groans at 21.15, so managed to see the last bit in peace, without being eternally questioned as to 'what did he say','what did he mean' and failing to hear for myself. (Also, Richard was due to come out, and didn't feel up to a strenuous question and answer session from a curious 10 and 6yr old as to what he might/not say.)
