Thursday 3rd August
Ventured into town for the first time in ages today. This was partly because I needed to order some new lenses, as I'm down to the last pair. Lets hope they arrive quickly as I dread tearing one, or dropping one as then I'd be virtually blind as my glasses are broken (well, the lense is chipped and they are very old so although theoretically they still work, I wouldn't be caught putting out the rubbish in them!)
Had a casual nose around the sales to see if there were any bargains to be had, and there were! I found a very unusual looking pair of black suede going out shoes with a curious shaped heel that makes your foot look like the Golden Lotus shape strived for by chinese ladies who had their feet bound until their toes dropped off. This is no mean feet (no pun intended!) as I take a size 39.
The mook did ok, as I bought her 3 pairs of stretchy trousers all for under 10 euros. (Stretchy trousers bought with stretchy elastic euros) They are a bit big, but come October, they should be just the ticket. I also bought a new going out top, which coincidentally popped up in this weeks Heat!, which I read when I got home. I haven't had a new going out top for ages, and as I have to go out for the next 3 Thursdays in a row, I know that it won't be sat in the wardrobe for ages collectingdust. (Good job as it is black, and it would look as though I had dandruff!)
Dinner was at Rosie's Cantina, which is where we all used to go for reception nights out, before Lucy came along. Some of the same faces, and another case of 'where did the last 6 years go?!' Guzzled the obligatory strawberry margueritas, which come by the jug full (although the jugs looked smaller than they used to)and Lucy enjoyed being the centre of attention, once she had got over being shy at the beginning. Came home and we were all tucked up by a very respectable 11pm. Long gone are the days when I used to go out at 11.
