Sunday 16th July

Nice and easy Sunday morning, just how we like it! I was up and about by 8am, and it was very overcast and misty up in the mountains with a silvery tonal effect, as opposed to the gold and purple sunsets. The light was very bright despite being cloudy, and made me think about when you wake up in the morning when you are a kid and you just know that it has snowed because the light you see behind the curtains is reflected off the snow. Tried to take a picture on my phone, but it doesn't do it justice.
Pootled about with the mook until it was time for lunch. This was followed by a spot of unstrenuous tidying and then we went up to the big park, as it was quite cloudy and not really pool weather when we set off. However, by the time we had walked 10 yards up the road, low and behold the sun came out and it was baking, but by this time I fancied the walk and the Mook was set on the park so off we trundled. Called in to the chinese shop on the way home and I treated Lucy to some squeaky brightly coloured plastic carp, some Barbie stickers which kept her out of trouble for about an hour while she stuck them on her books and then on herself, and some bubbles with which she was absolutely delighted. We had loads off fun while she was waiting to "get them!" (lots of running about and giggling as she tried to catch them before they popped!)
She absolutely demolished a plate of chicken, noodles and vegetables and I can see that she is growing almost daily. She was fast asleep by 8pm, so I had a bit of a read and then watched the new Silent Witness, which I love! (This series seems abit more gruesome though, as I can't remember wincing and having to look through my fingers last series, even though most of it is in a pathologists lab.)
