Christmas Day

A leisurely (although probably the last one for a few years) start to the day, and we were showered and dressed before we went downstairs at about 9am. Hop got up for a bit, although went back to bed, as Lucy was unwrapping her pressies at snails pace, and hasn't yet perfected the art of grab, rip the paper off, and toss to one side before reaching for the next present. (Sweet child wanted to play with everything first.)
I was very happy with my pre-requisite earrings, and Hop liked his new shirt. (Tried and tested...it may be predictable, but it works!)
More chaos once Hop had collected the other two, and Lucy spent much of the afternoon howling in her high chair. I think a text book case of being over-stimulated. I seem to remember the same thing happened last year aswell.
Dished up what is becoming our traditional family Christmas feast of Roast Pork, crackling, apple sauce and cider gravy with all the trimmings. After which Hop went back to bed, Emma and Amy played out and me and the Mook were left mountaineering over the debris. Finally cleared everything up, and deposited all the rubbish downstairs which Hop dutifully disposed of as it all had to go out because we are off tomorrow! When he came back he was brandishing a bottle of wine for me, which seems like a good idea, although I have reserved the right to change my mind tomorrow morning, when I have to get everybody moving at 03.30.
All in all a pleasant christmas, despite the howling interlude from the mook this afternoon, although it has to be said I can't wait to get back home tomorrow. Spoke to everyone at home, and I think that we are all united in our anticipation of the start of 'real' Christmas, when we are all together in the Forest on the 30th.
