Saturday 9th September

Hop spent the morning putting up the curtain rail again, with much huffing and puffing trying to get the extra long and strong screws into the wall. I think if it gets pulled down again, a big chunk of wall will come down with it this time. Gave the grubby white curtains a wash, and hung them on the line while I was press-ganged into watch Hop play football for the second week in a row at the same ground as last week.
Even though it is an artificial grass pitch, they still have sprinklers on it, which Emma and Amy love. They run around, and end up very wet. Its very funny to see how kids go totally crazy when there is a bit of water and sun, and they kind of know that what they are doing is naughty. Still, the sun is so hot that they are dry by the time its time to go.
Hop unfortunately had a bit of a collision with one of the members of the opposite team and got scissor kicked in the head, then landed on. He is now sporting a bruised eye, which will be black by tomorrow, and a swollen wrist, with possible broken bones. He wants to wait until tomorrow to see if the swelling goes down at all, before trundling off to hospital. Lucky that I came, as I'm not sure if he would have been able to drive home, particularly as he felt the need for some medicinal beers in the bar afterwards. Despite loosing their star player, as Hop came off after the knock, his team went on to win 8-1, and they won last week too, so they've had a good start to the season.
