monday april 17th

monday 17th April
Woke up and decided today is the day, so here is my first ever entry. The first dilemma was what to call it, and the second, third, fourth and fifth was what to say. The only other snag is will I have time? I had a bit of a hangover this morning,as we had some friends over for dinner last night, seeing as yesturday was easter sunday, so it has taken me all day to get round to all the other multitudes of things requiring my attention. Anyway, all done now. Quite a strange day here really because even though I've lived here in Tenerife for nearly 9 years, I still felt like it should have been a bank holiday. Anyway, this was my excuse for dodging my spanish lesson this morning and I'm sticking to it.

Picked the mook up from nursery at 12 and then came home for lunch. Went for our usual park outing this afternoon.(The small one across the road) Observed how mobile the mook has become in the six months we have been coming here, and also how she resembles a little monkey swinging about and climbing up things (usually where she shouldn't!). On the way up to the mercadona to get 'something for tea' (the bain of mine and I should imagine every other mum's life is trying to come up with nutritious teas which are quick to make and different, whilst being light on washing up and the purse) I bumped into my friend Rita, so did my good deed for the day and gave her a lift home to pick up some window boxes(don't ask!) Quite handy for both of us really, as I asked if she is could babysit for us on thursday, and she said yes!

Made interesting tea..home topped pizzas (quick and vaguely healthy with fresh veggies on!), and then watched Robin Hood film with the mook. She is obviously now aware of what is going on as each time somebody got thrown of battlement, or got a sword in their stomach she cried "uhh ohh". Had a bit of a laugh with the bedtime man game, as Hop rang down from upstairs on his mobile, I answered and said to Lucy " Oh it's the bedtime man and he wants to speak to you" Obviously, I usually pretend, and when she takes the phone there is nobody there, but tonight Hop was saying 'hello little girl, its time for bed ' The look on her face was one of pure shock and alarm! Pretty funny really, although the plan later backfired as I didn't get her settled until 21.15 Anyway, I'm off to my pit now
